Fck Womensday: women deserve more than a marketing campaign

fck womensday

Every March 8, companies, agencies, and governments roll out their International Women’s Day (IWD) campaigns—some meaningful, many performative. Too often, it’s a branding exercise: a one-day ad campaign, a pink-washed social post, a PR move with no real action behind it.

At Heal Magazine & Womanship, we believe in structural change, not slogans. That’s why we’re joining forces—to shift the conversation from awareness to accountability. Healing isn’t just personal; it’s systemic. We need companies and governments to do their part—because when the system fails us, it makes us unwell. Legal, financial, and health equity aren’t luxuries. They are the foundation for women to thrive.

What We’re Doing

  • Tracking real progress – Who is actually moving the needle on equity?
  • Highlighting real changemakers – Who is investing in women beyond March 8?
  • Holding organizations accountable – Who is shifting policies, not just posting about them?

Because if a company celebrates IWD but underpays women, keeps them out of leadership, or ignores their well-being, they’re not helping. They’re part of the problem.

The Numbers Tell the Story

  • Pay gaps are still here – Goldman Sachs paid $215 million to settle gender pay cases. In the FTSE 100, women on boards earn 69% less than men.
  • Women are still shut out of leadership – Only 28% of executive roles in S&P 100 companies are held by women, though women make up nearly half the workforce.
  • Women pay more for daily life – The “pink tax” means we still pay 7% more for basic products.
  • Healthcare ignores women – Two-thirds of Alzheimer’s patients are women, but only 12% of research funding focuses on them.
  • The mental load is real – Women are expected to work like they don’t have families and care like they don’t have jobs—while being underpaid and undervalued.

Yet, year after year, companies post a hashtag and call it progress. Not this time.

Beyond the Hashtag: Real Action

We’re tracking the data. Companies will be measured against real benchmarks—not just empty promises.
We’re amplifying true leadership. Next year, we’ll highlight those making real, measurable progress.
We’re demanding change now. Equity isn’t a one-day campaign—it’s an everyday commitment.

Who’s In?

Next year, we’ll celebrate the ones doing the work. If your company, agency, or government is making real progress, we want to hear about it. If they’re falling short, we’ll be tracking that too.
